As for the GTR, it seems more like a car they wanted to put together so people would go buy Nissans and talk about it, not so much a legitimate competitor to any supercar.
Man, have you watched/read any reviews for this car?????? I have to wonder...

I think it would have been better received if available in RWD form, but then they would not have been able to get such great launches and numbers out of it. If you look at the hp/weight ratio it is not even as good as a base LS3 vette due to the extra weight of the AWD system.
If it were RWD I don't think it would have as hard of a time as you'd like to think. The only reason it has AWD is because that feature has become apart of its heritage from generations before. As you said though, AWD doesn't help it in the company of RWD Supercars, of any make.

"all those cars"???? What was it, two???

Look, all I'm saying is exercise a little bit of objectivity in your statements. I know many of you here would rather have a ZR1 and that's all well in good, but the GTR isn't the car its being made out to be in this discussion. Its quite the opposite actually. A technical marvel, and if Nissan screwed up I'm not surprised. Afterall, its the first model year and the most technically advanced car they've built to date. And they wouldn't be the first to strike out in the first MY.
