GM is not going to send out black Suburbans to take people off the streets for saying "Chevy." I don't understand why any of you care.
Chevrolet is the name of the brand. Enthusiasts have a tendency to use the abbreviation colloquially. From now forward, GM will advertise the full name of the brand, as it has done for generations. Keep calling it a Chevy. People always will.
