Do some research about this 5spd vs 6 spd debate and you'll see. I'm not making this shit up.
Here watch this. Z06 hitting 190 in 5th gear at just over 6000rpm and the ZR1 hitting 200 mph in 6th gear at 6000 rpm. With the gearing in a V6 Camaro theoretical top end at redline is close to 200 mph. Do you think it'll be able to go that fast? Then why? Fuel economy. Very cool videos by the way.

first of all... most cars are limited by wind drag at high speeds not be gearing...
and secondly.... ive seen proper set up 3 speeds beat 5 speeds of the same car and engine... also ive seen 5 speeds set up properly beat a good 3 speed setup... its all about the length of the race and the ratios...
however... for top speed.... if NOT drag limited... more gears = higher speed = less gas at same speed
