(remember this is all according to me lol!) With the economy in the toilet until early-mid 2009, all auto sales will be low and therefore big automakers may have difficulty making a profit. The government will not let any of the big 3 die as too many jobs are at stake. So, since GM WILL make it through Camaro production (on schedule, I might add), all the enthusiasts who have pre-ordered will be getting their Camaros in the last leg of the "recession" (or whatever you want to call it). Keeping in mind ALL auto sales will be low, when the economy does come back in summer '09 many people will be in the market for a new car, since those who were going to purchase between now and then have put it off. Meanwhile, they have seen all us enthusiasts driving our crazy awesome Camaros around for the past several months, and so when the economy comes back lots of people will be so in love with the car that they will buy it, leading to GM making a substantial profit in Q3-Q4 of 2009, which leads to more money for R&D which leads to higher quality vehicles which leads to GM dominating the global car market which leads to craploads of more money which can be used to develop flying Camaros or whatever!

Just my optomistic $.02.
