Actually the lenses are the same, the inside of the housing is painted black to give the lens a darker appearance.
The weels are finished midnight silver instead of the factory silver so I am assuming they cost the same since the regular wheels are painted too.
Nevertheless it's a custom painted wheel and requires a separate paint run. I don't know the actual cost but I'm sure it's more than $20 to do this, even at the factory.
The roof mouldings are painted yes, and that is extra.
All SS's have the spoiler, that isn't included on the RS package when you buy a SS.
Right, the cost of the spoiler is subtracted on an SS but the RS package is available for all the models including the V6 so it's normally part of the package unless you get an SS.
I am just saying that the RS price on a SS is nearly all HID's. So I think we are agreeing, just maybe not on the amount.
Yeah I'm guessing the cost of the HID's and halos is around 2/3 of the RS price.

If you're getting a variation of the factory rim that's been painted a different color, then they're custom painted even though it's being done at the factory. They have to do a special paint run of these rims therefore they're "custom". The cost to the factory would depend on how many of these they do. There's a certain base cost for them to run any rim through paint and QC; the more of them they run the more cost-effective the production is. Because they run so many of the "standard" rim those are the cheapest for them to produce. In order for them to run a custom color, they have to clean, reload and prepare their paint system for this new color, and after they're done, they have to do all that again to reload the regular color. All that costs money so that's why they charge extra for a special "non-standard" color.
I wasn't really thrilled with Midnight Silver; it doesn't even begin to look like it's name. I was expecting them to be much darker; wish they had been actually. More like a black chrome would have looked good but whatever. I changed mine out to 3-piece forged anyways.
