Maybe a "GT"-style package, with more splitter/more wing (more total downforce front AND rear, aero-correct), c/f undertray, smaller grille opening (high-speed cooling not an issue), forged 19s (under 20#/wheel), and Sport Cup non-runflats...with the "freeflow option" of Fellows behind the wheel?

John Heinricy didn't drive the ZR1 at the "Ring. The lead Chassis Development Engineer, Jim Mero did the driving. There is a "no professional race drives code" now in place. The Z06 used John Magnusson, a Corvette team driver prior to the "code".

Runflats suck for handling, I bet a good set of actual race tires could get a few seconds by themselves

I believe the base Corvette has run flats, not sure about the ZR1.....
Just confirmed at Chevrolet.com.....ZR1 has run flats standard.
