Gearing is not the same, but neither is power delivery, at all. Shorter gearing is not always better, but lighter always is. Gearing is about balance and a higher spinning engine will benefit from shorter gearing much more (I know there isn't a huge difference ls3 to 5.0, just making a general statement). 4.10's or as said earlier 4.55's, may not actually make the car run any faster down the 1320, but taking off 200 pounds sure as hell will.
