Theoretical top speed in 6th gear at redline in the ZR1 is over 220 mph. Do you think it can hit redline in 6th gear? Maybe it could come close but it has over 630 HP. Most cars with six speed transmissions cannot come close to hitting redline in 6th gear. All the Z06 top speed runs you see are all in 5th gear as soon as you shift in to 6th the top speed drops off. In most vehicles 6th gear is there to help with gas mileage and that's it.
Do some research about this 5spd vs 6 spd debate and you'll see. I'm not making this shit up.
Here watch this. Z06 hitting 190 in 5th gear at just over 6000rpm and the ZR1 hitting 200 mph in 6th gear at 6000 rpm. With the gearing in a V6 Camaro theoretical top end at redline is close to 200 mph. Do you think it'll be able to go that fast? Then why? Fuel economy. Very cool videos by the way.
