Not sure where you got that idea. The only reports that I've seen are that it was going to be a reskin/refresh not a clean sheet redesign. That said, this appears to be a pretty substantial refresh since all the exterior sheet metal is being reworked, along with the front fascia (presumably rear as well), some new/reworked engines, and probably a new interior as well. Thats almost as far as you can go without re-engineering the entire platform.
