Time will tel who has hit the sweet spot, but I don't think the Camaro has hit the sweet spots quite as squarely as you guys do.

In terms of acceleration the Fox body 5.0 cars were absolutely quicker, and for a lot less money. Some folks like to cite magazine articles were auto trans equipped 350TPI cars compared well to the fox body Mustangs, but out on the street and at the track the results never seemed to follow those Motor Trend and Car and Driver got with the 3rd gen F-body owners only recourse bascially being that they could press their copy of the magazine article against the window. The f-body cars would absolutely hammer the Mustang in the turns and were far, far sleeker and more modern looking. But in terms of speed, affordability, and tunability it wasn't close until 1993 when Chevy changed the game altogether.

Before that, the 71 Boss 351 and 429CJ/SCJ Mustangs were easily faster than anything the Camaro could muster that year. Also worth mentioning, the 1968 428CJ Mustangs could easily handle anything GM threw at them in that year. I would compare the Boss Mustang's of 1969 and 1970 to the COPO Camaro's of 1969 but the truth is that neither of those cars ever seemed to make it anywhere near a dragstrip in truly stock trim, magically sprouting recurved distributors, aftermarket exhaust, and even different camshafts before being tested so I am uncertain we will ever know the truth about either of those vehicles.

The SS has nothing to worry about now, in 2011 or many years after that. The underrated LS3 will put the hurt on the alleged "5.0" too.

so you are agreeing/admiting to this?
