If you are refering to chapter 11 vs a loan . . . as I understand it, a bankrupt GM would cost tax-payers much more than a few billion dollars worth of loan swill. In the end, the loans will be paid back with interest. A bankrupt GM will pass on billions of dollars worth of costs to taxpayers.
