One of my best friends,
Gary Thurin, suffered for a number of years from wounds he received just a month into his tour in Vietnam, and finally died from them. Gary, you were a true love, and you will never be forgotten.
My husband became friends with a really great guy,
Sgt. Jack Messer, in Vietnam. They had a short friendship, as Jack died from burns he received when the APC he was working on was hit and blew up. Jack, I know you were a special person, because Steve has had a very hard time with your death. He really thought a lot of you.
