Import cars will not raise in price - they still have to compete with each other. We like to group the "Jap" cars all together, and "BMW" seems to be ubiquidous with anything european, but if the big three were to all fail, there would still be at least 15 mainstream car companies out there doing business in North America. Hardly a monopoly.
