Every dealership and/or sales managers have their own philosophy.

Most people don't buy the first time they pull into a dealership. If they want your "Future" business they better make a good impression.

Jacking me around, or wasting my time, or being stingy with the keys isn't a way to get me to buy a car from your lot.

I am the customer, and you are ONLY in business for one reason and one reason only, because you sell cars. If you don't provide a good "car buying experience" for me from the beginning to end then I don't buy from you.

When I was an USAF Recruiter, I would get some Heavy people come in,, or sometimes some 15 or 16 year olds walk in my office with their parents.
Could the fat kid join? No? could the 16 year old kid join, no?.. Did I still take the time to tell them how wonderful the USAF was, and how it could change your life for the better. Yep.. Why did I do that? They couldn't help me out with my "quota".. Well sales is about present business, future business, and good reputation.

If I would have blown off all the fat kids and young kids, then I would have given a horrible impression. So when they dropped the 30 lbs, or finally did meet the age requirement.... Who are they going to go see? The crappy recruiter who didn't give them good service when they requested it? Or someone else? Probably someone else

Dealerships would do a lot better if they practiced these sales practices.

A Mustang V6 or GT should be available for a test drive for almost everyone. They are a dime a dozen, and saturate the roads. The 2011s have a new engine -- whoopidee doo. It is still a Mustang and they are still going to sell 100's of thousands of them in the first year or two. They aren't some rare diamond that needs to be roped off and guarded with armed guards.. They are mustangs.

A ZR1 Corvette- different story. A GT500 different story.. A V6 Mustang? Give me a break. Anyone with a valid driver's licence would stand a good chance of driving one at my dealership (hypothetically, If I owned one of course)

And if I felt there was absolutely zero chance of them EVER buying a car from me, I would still do a thorough walk around, and explanation of the car, and they would leave with brochures and websites to visit, and they would feel like they got special attention. Because I guarantee when it is time for them to buy,, they would be coming back to see me.
