Yeah, he's pretty laid-back and just going from other "stuff" we've done, I don't think it will get too weird. Besides, this car really is super easy for a manual. I've only stalled it once (gas station backing up no room and uphill).
It was 30+ years since I had driven a manual, and I did okay. He'll have a stall (or two) and a couple herky-jerky's and then he should be fine with it.
