under. They will probably HAVE to go bankrupt in order to "purge" the union contracts. We (cause it is
our money) can throw all we want of it at GM but the problem persists. They were losing billions a quarter
before the economy tanked. They simply can not compete at $78 per hour vs $40 at the US Toyota plant (the numbers are close anyways to what I read here earlier in a different thread). The only way GM survives is by getting its pay scales down to where those of private industry are. That's a sad fact but it's also reality.
