To convert from binary to decimal, you add together all the values where the digit is "set" (a "1").

10111001
When the values of the digits are:

128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1

Then we add up all the values where I have a "1". SO, 128+32+16+8+1 = ???

That will be what 10111001 is worth.
