Whoops, it looks like I ended up thread jacking this and I didn't mean to. I also didn't want to get into a pissing contest about what dog is better suited for this, that, or the other!
My comments are from my own experiences. I've been around dogs my whole life and have seen
(and felt 
) alot of things. While I wouldn't want to be a bad guy encountering either of these breeds that were defending their home and the people they love, the reality is that there are other breeds that are bigger, stronger, more agile, and definitely more ferocious. I personally am not looking for a dog to use as a weapon, and it kind of looks as though my posts could be misconstrued as just that. The fact of the matter is when I've been forced to protect me and mine for real, dogs were the least of the criminals concerns...what must have weighed heavily on their minds however, was the SScattergun I had in my hands and the fact that I can write my name with it.
