My mom bought a brand-new 1968 Camaro Sport Coupe in 1968 after graduating college. Funny story; she actually wanted a Mustang

but the dealer at the Furd dealership was too pushy with the "buy today" and "that Camaro will rust in a couple years!" ideas. So she said screw him and went to George O'Hara Chevrolet in New Bedford, MA and they didn't push her at all. She just looked at the cars herself and the next day she came back and special ordered it (they didn't have the color she wanted in stock; Fathom Blue). Then, on Dec. 24, 2001, I got MY Camaro; a 1988 Sport Coupe, 305 Tuned Port out of an 85 IROC, T-Tops. Since then, I've basically replaced or added every part known to make my car into an IROC mechanically and suspension, all I need to do is install the last front spring and get better shocks. Oh, and I also put a 1992 dash and gauge cluster in last winter. And yes, every gauge and light on it works.
Another interesting note on our Camaros; mine was built at Van Nuys in May,1988. My Mom's was built at Norwood in May, 1968. Same Camaro trim-style, built the same month. Hmmmm...
I think my plans now call for me to do some body repair to my car (rust) this winter and then repaint it victory red. I have this idea of doing her up like Dale Earnhardt's red 1987 IROC. I think it'd be cool
Oh and of course the other plan is save all I can for the new Camaro!
