I also want to add that we appreciate the Mustang's success here at Camaro5. If that retro car had not been successful, our car would not return. The issue is that the Mustang is not the market master anymore. The Challenger has delivered some serious bitch-slappage to the Mustang, and the Camaro will continue that trend. Until Ford releases something new, it will be the same Mustang. Comparing a 2009 Mustang with a 2005 Mustang is like comparing the Camaro Concept with the Camaro SS. They are the same basic car. There are small changes, and even the engine is different (LS2, LS3), but the performance is fundamentally the same, and they are both pretty sweet. A lot of you GT guys are getting mad that your territory is being dominated by other cars. We're not sorry. For Ford to compete in the marketplace, it has to compete, and that means improving old products to match or beat the competition. Sadly, Ford doesn't seem to prioritize the Mustang's performance on the same level that Dodge has prioritized the Challenger or Chevrolet has prioritized the Camaro.
