I think a protruding blower looks cool on older cars and cars that weren’t offered with a v8 from the factory. But it is kind of silly on anything that came with a v8 and port injection since all else being equal carbs make less power. Check out the supercharging sections on some of the G8 and 04-06 GTO boards, there some pretty slick kits that will give you all the boost the stock engine can handle without cutting the hood.
It might not look as cool, but it will be street legal, pass emissions, cost less and be more impressive to people who recognize the sound or see it with the hood up.
