Unfortunately I work in a retail environment where there's a constant barrage of sound; 6-10 different songs/soundtracks/movies/tv shows all blasting away all day long. I literally go sit in my car sometimes during lunch just to get some quiet and relief. The audio fatigue is considerable and by the end of the day if I don't have a headache, I'm on the edge of one.
Sadly that affects my desire to listen to music on my own time; often I just like peace and quiet. Although there's usually a song or music of some kind going on in my head lol. But it's never the massive wall of distortion and loud blasting bass types of songs. I used to love to listen to rock and roll constantly; I would listen with headphones but I think in those days it was a form of escape. I could drown out the world and create the illusion of my own world like that. Now my musical thoughts tend towards melody, harmony, detail, depth.
How do you guys find all these songs you listen to?
