Every time this car runs 12's we have to hear about how it is king of the world....I know it may be exciting for you mustang guys....but we have been doing this since 1998 with our GT counterpart.
Don't get carried away. The car is making a howling noise, it could be anything, the transmission has not been "destroyed." You don't powershift a brand new car and make 20+ runs with under 50 miles on it and expect no issues, at least I wouldn't. It could be a throw out bearing or clutch issue. How do you know the tires and wheels are lighter? The tires ARE a big issue because the tires he's on are far, far less sticky than the optional summer tires. That just means the car is capable of more than what he ran. How much faster, we will only know when we see more cars run. We will also have to wait and see about the transmission.
