Why wouldn't they? A supercharger is a forced induction device, so centrifugals count and while I'm being technical, so should turbos.

And I should add, funny cars use nitromethane. That kinda helps when making power. But the fact remains that they produce ~8000 hp and ~7000 lbft of torque. If I've done my math correctly (I probably haven't), in 1 run down the dragstrip they produce enough power to run your house for about 3 hours.
