I contacted Alabama DMV but could find nothing about getting any sort of title from them. As well I contacted NYS DMV and any car older than 1973 is not titled here as well, you can register it with a signed bill of sale. Obviously being that the car never ran there was no reason to register it. So now I am trying to sell it I have an interested person in Michigan, does anyone know what he needs from me to take possession of the car and eventually register it in Michigan? I assumed a notarized bill of sale from me (along with the original transferring it to me) would be enough. Thanks!
Alabama only titles model year 1975 and up vehicles. Bill of sale is all you get here....

Not sure what your buyer would do in this case.
I'd bet all they have to do is take the bill of sale to the DMV who will then issue a title. No way they'd be the first person to show up with this particular issue.

In any event, thats the buyers problem, not the sellers. As a seller its not your responsibility to know whether the buyer can titler/register a vehicle in their home state.
