Supermans to be fair to Settlemire he is a GM vice president and not exactly in a position to say anything that doesn't directly reflect the GM corporate line, or the administration's line for that matter since GM is effectively a nationalized company and will remain so for the indefinite future. Not if he values his job, and who wouldn't if they were in his position.
Some friendly advice, you are wasting your time here. Some, like you, can see the big picture. Others cannot or will not. They are too in love with the product to have any measure of objectivity towards the company that makes it.
For once I agree with the majority here. Lock this thing down. There is nothing to be accomplished here.
