Regarding the 2011 Mustang, I can't deny that it's a beast from the factory. I think it's looks good, sounds good, and will probably run real good. It's probably faster on an average basis than the 2010-2011 SS. Of course, some drivers would prove otherwise.

But the Mustang does seem to have a pretty decent intake and exhaust system compared to the stock SS. If Chevy made the SS stock with headers, more of free-flowing exhaust, and an actual CAI, and a better tune, considering headers are involved, the stock flywheel numbers of the SS would be above 445 hp. That's very conservative too. Not too bad.
You will be inside the engine long before you ever have to on the 5.4. And it does respond very very well to boost. Admittedly the stock blower is not that good. The TVS you can get from Ford that does not void your warranty is a little better. You can get the TVS package that is rated at 660hp and still keep your warranty.

You really want to make power you go with Kenne Bell or whipple for the 5.4s. I would prefer kenne bell.

And if ford gave the 5.0, 1.2 more liters, it would probably make a very conservative 480hp.

All we can go off is what the cars come from the factory with. Once modding starts all bets are off.
