And that's what so hilarious about any comparisons that people made between the GT500 and the SS: when you strap on a blower to the LS3/L99, you get a much better performer than the GT500... usually a good deal more hp too.
Regarding the 2011 Mustang, I can't deny that it's a beast from the factory. I think it's looks good, sounds good, and will probably run real good. It's probably faster on an average basis than the 2010-2011 SS. Of course, some drivers would prove otherwise.
But the Mustang does seem to have a pretty decent intake and exhaust system compared to the stock SS. If Chevy made the SS stock with headers, more of free-flowing exhaust, and an actual CAI, and a better tune, considering headers are involved, the stock flywheel numbers of the SS would be above 445 hp. That's very conservative too. Not too bad.
