Corvette Plant Will Temporarily Close For A Week
The Corvette Factory in Bowling Green is one of two General Motors factories that will temporarily close for a week to keep inventory in line with lower demand.
A GM spokesman says the factory will be idled the week of December first.
Corvette sales are off nine-percent through the first nine months of the year.
The plant employs about 900 workers.
The other factory to be idled is in Detroit, which employs nearly 1800 people and makes the Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS Sedans.
That factory will close starting November 24th.
