The year is Two Thousand Ten.

While I don't like "twenty ten", I don't think anyone is going to stop using it. Much like the Maro, and Cammy terms.
And what where the dates in the 1900's called? They were not called One Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Nine. It was Nineteen Ninety Nine.

Twenty Ten is the correct way to say the date.
