. TAG's right, the highway is shut down, the tires were even melted. I can't see anything about that being chopped.
Though, I do think the "shinyness" of all the metal back there after it burned rather odd. But I suppose for a 200,000 dollar car, Heat-treated, Corrosion resistant metal is a no-brainer...
