I used to own a Cuda' 440-6 Pack with a pistol grip 4-speed shifter. I also am a fan of the pistol grip shift handle.
Contact Barton Industries. They offer a BEAUTIFUL pistol grip shifter that is available as a conversion kit for your stock lever (about $75.00, and easy to install) or as a complete short throw shifter conversion kit.
I installed one on my SS (so anyone could do it) and love it.
