My dad looked online and found Ingersoll rand, anyone have any experience with them?
What is the difference between single stage and dual stage compressors?
What is 1-phase vs 3-phase? Which is better?
Thanks in advance everybody.

Well I work in maintenance at a milk processing plant, at which we have 2 - 250hp and 1 - 125hp air compressors. You do NOT want a 3 phase, thats in reference to the motor that runs the compressor, and I'm willing to bet alot of money the electricity supply to your house will not support a 3 phase motor (usually 480 volts). For your use you should be able to use any brand compressor from a local home improvement store (Menard's, Lowe's, Home Depot) and be plenty good. But if you must have the best, then as far as i've seen, everything ingersoll rand makes is high quality.
Edit: Talked to a few guys here at work, and they said Ingersoll Rand isn't as good as they used to be. Seriously, any air compressor should last you at very minimum 3-5years
