Not just slow it down, but stall it out!! Before law enforcement, I worked for General Dynamic in Marion, Il, and actually loaded the GAU8 rounds used in the A-10. 11.75 inches long, with a (training) projectile weighing in at 6860gr. In retrospec, a typical .45acp ball round is 230gr, some of the 500 S&W Mag rounds come in around the 330gr mark. I have some video of the gun going through it paces, with HEI rounds. It's awesome to watch.
