blog from a honda head tired of getting flack

I had a little laugh thought I'd share. obviously seems like whoever owns the corvette is a douche but both are in the wrong IMO. makes for a laugh or two.

His Blog

First off, yes I am a Honda Head...

I've been thinking alot lately, mainly because I've caught a bunch of shit about my 17 year old Prelude. Most of the crap slung my way was from pricks with brand new, never-been-touched cars (cough CORVETTE) whose owner wouldn't know how to change their oil if their life depended on it. Truth is I'm not into the body styles and restrictions you run into with newer cars. All the cookie-cutters being put out look the same, and perform like a virgin @ a porn shoot. There's something about the late 80's/ early 90's body styles and engine performance that strikes my fancy. The options for customization and engine swaps are ENDLESS (no brake puns intended).

The other thing I get alot is "why don't you get a paint job?"...Well here's my reason : Sure, my car looks like it's seen better days on the outside. But the interior/ engine bay are just about as perfect as 17 years of use (and abuse) can yield. I had enough money for a paint job when I bought her but I had a decision on my hands: (looks or performance). If I had gone for paint I wouldn;t have had money left for wheels/ tires, coilovers, HID headlights, yellow fogs, Weapon R intake (modified), valve cover, alternator, Pacesetter headers/ catback, drilled/ slotted rotors, PJDM oil cap/ reservoir covers...

I have plenty of time for a paint job down the road. I'm not in a hurry and I never set out to make a show car in the first place. My ultimate goal down the road is to swap the engine for a turbo-charged H22A (w/ wire tuck), stip out the interior, and run her on the drag strip. I might add some extras and enter her into a car show here and there but that'll be for fun.

Shoot, if we had daddy's money sure we'd have 'vettes too. Or if we were redneck, a mustang or camaro. But we don't. What we do have is passion, and initiative. The only thing those of the little dick generation know is to mash on the gas. Yeah, that takes a lot right there. If you cant find it grind it as a motto. They use horsepower to compensate for skill. "I dont know my shifting sweet spots, thats why I bought an automatic" or "as long as the petal is to the metal I'll win." These knuckle heads will never bond with their vehicle like we do. To them its a chain, or a watch. To us, it is us. Out everything poured into a mechanical dream. P.S. if you had the money to get a paint job, you should have gone straight to the engine swap and not waste money or time on the engine you have now.... as for a brand of radiator, how about U-AUTO-PULL-IT
