its the polarization in them.. something about blocking horizontal light rays and only letting vertical in to block glare coming off flat surfaces(water or car bonnet) .. google if you want more details...
but its fun... and i think with ceramic tint it does it much more. I was in a friends car with regular int and only had fiant rainbows looking out tinted windows and no rainbows looking out the front (no tint)
