And now we are splitting hairs. If you cant admit this is a drivers race you are delusional.

Motor Trend, Car and Driver, and Road and Track all hit a 13.0 flat on their first run, Automobile hit a 13.3. None of the four mainstream auto rags hit a 12.9 on their first run.
And like I said, this is the cars first run, that 12.8 could easily be a 12.7 or 12.6 next time around, we don't know yet but the potential is absolutely there. Worst case scenario, we know that the Mustang GT's first 1/4 mile time is better than the best any mainstream auto rag has ever run in a SS, and that the run that achieved that time was conducted on an unprepared surface. In the hands of a great driver this could well be a low 12 second car.

See my reply above.

When the dust clears I'm thinking 3 to 4 tenths venue for venue.

Hot Rod isn't Motor Trend, none of the big four managed any better than a 13.0 the first time out and most never improved on that.

Why wouldn't I? Given the power to weight and gearing I think this was a decent but not great run. I think we'll see even the mainstream auto rags hitting 12.7 and 12.6 second times before all is said and done with private owners hitting very low 12's on a good track with a great run. That would be about three tenths faster than the better than the best a Camaro SS can do and would require about 30hp to match assuming that extra power doesn't bring traction issues, a problem which the Camaro's weight is likely to exacerbate at those kind of times. Another 30hp comes out to just under 460hp, throw in another ten to make up for traction losses and you're at 470hp and you're just keeping up.

What you had done in the local garage wont work for GM. For example, mid length headers are going to effect cat light off and as such are almost certainly never going to pass emissions. It wont be as easy for GM as it was for you. And like I said earlier, if you think this is all that there is in this car you are dreaming.
And the V6 comparison is already very interesting, a 13.7 second 1/4 mile run on their first try on an unprepared surface? Wow.
