F-body is the platform designation for the Camaro and Firebird until the 5th generation.

Older GM platforms were designated by letter. As far as I know, only the W-body Impala, H-body Lucerne, K-body DTS, and Y-body Corvette still exist. Today's GM platforms are designated by the Greek alphabet. The 5th gen. Camaro is on the Zeta platform, midsize FWD sedans are on Epsilon I/II, compacts are on Delta I/II, subcompacts on Gamma I/II, midsize crossovers on Theta, full-size crossovers on Lambda, etc.
