Since I am the OP i believe its only fair that I clarify things perhaps a bit more
1.) This person is not a FRIEND of mine and the person this in regards to is actually a friend of someone I work with. Thus I don't actually know the person at all.
2.) The AGE of consent in Ontario is currently 16 years of age. Regardless of the age bracket, so long as the person you engage in sexual activity with is 16 or above, and is willing... specifically willing it's legal. There is no twist around this.
3.) The age of consent for ANAL sex is still 18 in Ontario Canada.
4.) From what I've been told these two people the 25 year old and the 16 year old like eachother, hang out together, spend time together everyday, and again to my knowledge have not in any way fooled around. Then again, I dont think they would admit it either.
5.) Extremes such as people being 14 when their spouse was 6 is irrelevant in all honesty... arguments need to be made given the situation at hand.. not with unnecessary examples that don't fully contribute to the conversation at hand. I feel that to really answer this inquiry it would be more appropriate to deal with the 25 & 16 debate.. not the 35 & 26 or the 20 & 11 debate.
6.) My answer to the person who asked me about this situation is simple.. and I may take some heat for this...
If I was 'friends' with a 16 year old, and I was like an older brother to them then I dont see a problem with it.. however these two are clearly interested in a relationship / romantic sense. Given that information I think that if they can find a way to make it work... this means
Parents know, on both sides and support it
Friends and family know about it, and both are ok with it
Both people are willing to go through a LOT of belittling and questioning for SEVERAL years to come.
As long as both parties realise that college / university, drinking, 'life' really hasn't fully been experienced
Then sure.
However, my final comment is this.
If the 25 year old, makes it a point to get in this girls head and keep her interested enough to form a relationship then great job... you've just robbed her of experiencing all that life had to offer for his own benefit
Though I suppose if they did work things out and form a relationship no matter how ludacris teh idea is.. and if they really dont care for anyone elses oppinions and are truly happy.... and its more than just a lay for the guy and no manipulation is involved.. then good luck?
