You just control the one main character. The other 2 supporting characters act of their own "free will" and help you out accordingly. Also, I won't go into describing the battle system too much, but its kind of like XII in a sense that you see the actual enemy on-screen, so you can avoid some fights if you want to. But when you engage a group of enemies, it goes into a turn-based battle system like all the other FFs before. Also, when using items like potions and antidotes, it doesn't cost you a turn. You can go down to them items menu, use a potion real quick, then the second it puts you back to the main battle menu, you can instantly attack. Hope that clarifies a teeny bit on the battle system. Theres alot more that I don't understand because I've only played for 30 minutes, but so far, its AWESOME!!
