Having never driven a vehicle with keyless ignition before, this is just speculation but: what would happen if they threw the 'key' fob out the window? Most of those require the lil 'key' fob thingy to be within a certain distance of the vehicle, right? Just a thought, and I'm sure that may not have crossed their minds as they were too busy thinking 'oh dear god, it won't turn it off, it wont go into neutral, what do i do?!'
