GOOD LORD... that completely goes against your theory... as the numbers show that the Camaro is certainly more capable than the GT.. but damn near as fast as the GT500. Sadly.. both the GT and the SS are better race track runners than the much more expensive and much more powerful GT500.

As i said before... if the new '11 GT is even a smidge better than the 2010 GT... even with 10 more HP the GT500 will be essentially OBSOLETE. A simple bump in HP for the Camaro SS to the Corvette spec LS3 would render the GT500 defenseless as it stands now... the Z28.. should be considered... well OVER-KILL.
The only reason the Camaro was quicker than the GT was the Camaros power PERIOD. The 5.0 should have no trouble putting the Mustang GT ahead on a road course. As for the GT500, don't forget it's about more than 10 HP jump, there will be 120 less pounds over the wheels to improve weight distribution and the SVT track package, it should be a total beast. Heck, if what Ford says is correct, the V6 with it's track pack is supposed to be quicker than a GT with a track pack around a road course.
