For the most part in the US Military, pilot = commissioned officer = college degree.
The only exceptions are Army and Navy Warrant Officers who are pilots.
The Navy program is limited and requires experience plus an associates degree IIRC.
The Army will let you apply into what they call Warrant Officer Flight Training where you go Basic Training -> Warrant Officer Candidate School -> Flight Training but from what I understand, most of the guys applying for that have a degree, making the competition for open slots a bit stiff. A GED may be a non-starter as well. A couple of the guys I work with are prior service Army pilots who went through that program.
