There is some racism here and there but its mostly in the rural areas. Come to a bigger city and noone will bat an eye.
You are more likely to be struck by lightning 4 times than win the lottery (or a Camaro contest).
Life is good here. Any given weekend you can jump in your car and wander aimlessly thru the countryside hitting twisty roads and seeing the sights. (i'm sure its more diverse scenery than the middle east).
For example, where I am I can drive a couple hours north and hit straight flat roads in the Indiana cornfield country. I can drive a couple hours south and hit the Great Smokey Mountains. Check out this road:
