Hey G. E., I don't get around here much (no Camaro), but I ran across this thread, and I think you need to chill a bit. "Anti-social/depressed" are not laughing matters, and I don't think you're kidding. I've done the "innocent thread that came back to haunt me" thing a few times on various forums, and it can indeed get a little depressing.
It sounds to me like this girl is cool with you, and that's cool enough. It's easy for us gearheads to get wrapped up in our cars, and forget that not everybody understands our enthusiasm. "Going for a ride" probably sounded very different to her ears than it did in your head. "You mean, you really just wanted to show me your car?" "Duh, it's the new Camaro!"
