Sub 4 sec 0-60. Low 12's - High 11's: 1/4 mile time. The truth is there is alot of places to shave weight from in the Camaro but when a model like the Z28 was not going to exist at all and now it is probably I think they will be happy to just put something out there with the Z28 nameplate.
I'm not saying they won't put time and effort into it but GM has so many companies under their branch with so many good models it's just so much easier for them to pick another platform or design and copy it to some extent. I feel strongly that its better they just get a Z28 that's competitive at first and than worry about things like finding places to reduce weight and add more power. Cars are about evolution. But you can't evolve if you don't exist. Right now the GT500 is evolving. Now it's time for GM to let the Z28 exist!
And thanks! The Grabber Blue is the best color ever for a retro muscle car in my opinion. And Dodge better up some ante for the Chally! The problem is what can they do more? I heard they are putting a 6.4L Hemi in the new Charger don't know the HP/TQ but how much better can it be although bigger engine means more weight, and that is not something the Chally can afford to do at all!

I couldn't agree more

What you're saying makes total sense. I truly hope that they just don't slap LSA in there with some wheels/tires/facia and such. I'm sure they won't, for the record, but it does seem a little crappy that Ford kinda' did that with the '10 GT500. I'd be a little pizzed if I were those owners, much like the '10 GTs. I totally agree with evolving, but I can't stand getting something out there just to get some money, ya' know? Bring something to the table that's ready to roll and make no excuses.
On the other hand, I can also see it's a lot to ask - develop a car like Z28 in the climate we're in and try to keep costs reasonable. If Z28 were to be competitive with the GT500, I really don't know that they can go too far with weight savings if they want to keep that cost similar. I think it's cheaper to add power, to an extent, but they have to make Z28 more than that; keep the traditionalists as close to happy as reasonable. I think if the can keep the weight close to what it is (assuming LSA is the engine) and improve handling substiantially, they're going to have one Hell of a car.
That's what it was - 6.4L I believe. Hmm... I think I read it was thought that was going to be around 500 HP. That would be too
