It depends on what kind of numbers. First off the look of the GT500 I prefer, I love the snake look in the front. Love the Camaro look too though. But for some reason the Camaro at certain angles just looks wierd very bloated and oddly shaped. Just my opinion. To me the Z28 is going to be nice but the weight will is going to be a significant amount more than the GT500 if the Z28 is what it is suppossed to be. First off IRS adds weight. Even if it is 100 - 200 lbs lighter than the CTS-V it will still be more considering the GT500 just lost weight. The 2010 GT500 curb weight was 3924 lbs now if it lost 102 lbs from the engine and the car tested had a glass roof which adds approx. 25-30 lbs. according to Ford.
So if the car lost lets just say 102 lbs (engine) + 25 lbs (glass roof option) = 127 lbs. 3924 - 127 = 3797 lbs for the 2011 GT500 curb weight without glass roof. The 2010 Camaro SS has a curb weight of 3860 lbs. so I can only imagine how much more the Z28 will weigh. I'll take a GT500 with 550hp that weighs less than an SS for now. All I'm saying is Z28 better pack more than 556+ HP an extra 6 HP will not make up for the weight. But I am looking foward to the Z28. Chevy needs this car it's no fun opening up Car and Driver and seeing "King of the Hill" next to the GT500 when it did nothing to earn it except go into production.
So please GM build this car already!
