Well my cop story is a little different...When the wife and I first got married we had a 1964 Ford Custom that probably should have been shot and buried long before we got it...anyways she was driving along HWY 4 in Contra Costa County and the car died several miles out of town. There she was on the side of the road it was August and pretty hot out and she was 6months pregnant with our 2nd child. This was before cell phones by the way. A CHP motorcycle pulled up to check on her. He was very pleasant and concerned about her being out there by herself so he radioed for a patrol car to come get her off the freeway. When the 2nd officer arrived he gave her some bottled water made sure she was ok and then loader her, our 1st child and all the baby stuff in his car and drover her all the way to my parents house about 30 miles away so I could pick her up after work. Always been greatful for how they treated my family...
