so my father... an avid auto collector (as i) has many new and old collecter autos... and the unit keeps getting bigger every year with more 4 tyred go fast machines and some not so fast.... all 3 of his alfa's are incredibly slow...
he has been briving a dodge viper around as his daily driver throughout the summer and an escalde throughout the winter and to work... and he hasn't loved the dodge so much... so my brother just made it to the NHL (st.Louis blues) and is 'buying' the viper off my father...
now his collection consist of many fine american cars as well as a few old and new european cars... and he asked me... what am i missing?
so i told him... you need some cars from around the world... you NEED to have at least one japanese/korean/chinese...Asian car in your collection...
but i dont really like asian cars... the only one he liked was my 350z... so i showed him a booklet on a nissan GTR... and after about 15 minutes of speculating... he was incredibly insistent on having this car... without even driving one... because thats his thing... if he likes it ... he buys it... anyways... it goes on... he is completly aware of the price tag and how much msrp he is going to have to py over price to even get one... well now...
heres the funny part... Nissan doesn't produce 1500 a year like they have said.... they WILL not sell a gtr to any random person...
the salesmen explained that they were not for sale and we could by the new 350z or g37 coupe instead... it turns out that a gtr is only used to get people to look at nissan's """"""""OTHER""""""" cars and spark interest in the maxima, altima, etc... furiously... he called many high level leasing companys for one, over 30 dealerships in ontario and around 5 from new york... unsure as to which... so he gave up...
and bought an engineless late 50's belair...
and still dislikes asian cars.

ive never even heard of a car you cant buy... even in cash... especially from a nissan dealership... this is an outrage completly... and i will never buy another nissan product... the only thing a gtr is...IS A MARKETING PLAN used to get people to buy other nissans...
