just to keep in mind some facts...



(hard to find those in a thread like this)

2011 mustang GT manual comes in at 8.7lbs/hp
2010 camaro SS manual comes in at 9.0lbs/hp

the new stang comes with higher gearing then we get (if i remember correctly, 3.41's stock or 3.73's with the track pack) compared to our 3.21's.

the gearing of the tranny's is the only thing unknow and assuming they've done what i'm sure they have; they've engineered the car to beat our beloved SS's.

that is assuming equally matched drivers and perfect replication of conditions.

but this is why i'm almost certain that GM is going for the throat of the snake with the new Z; kill the top dog and there wont be a next move to be made by the blue oval.
